The wheels were rather scruffy so I removed them from the car cleaned them and then flatted them back with a scotch pad. I filled any dings with body filler, sanded back and primed as needed. I used Simoniz silver wheel paint which is a really good match for the original and very cost effective.

Although my car is relatively low mileage at 53000 Mls I decided to check the secondary tensioners to see if they had been changed. This only involves removing the cam covers which is fairly easy and does not require any special tools. What I found was original tensioners in a very sad state of repair.
